Is Self-Feeding Set to Overtake Breastfeeding in the Celebrity Feeding Debate?
Celebrity Baby Feeding Trends

When it comes to early feeding methods, the focus has long been on the breastfeeding versus formula debate. Supermodels like Gisele Bundchen and Miranda Kerr have gone so far as to make the belfie (breastfeeding selfie) popular, while other celebrities including J.Lo and Brooke Shields have been proud to speak out about formula and doing what works for you.

The newest baby feeding debate surrounds how solid foods should be introduced. People have become quick to slam jarred baby food, with celebrities such as Jana Kramer giving a shout-out to “Mommy Shammers” who slammed her jarred baby food photo on Instagram.

However, the newest research shows that jarred baby food does appear to have a place in your baby’s early diet. Baby Self-Feeding is set to be the newest social media feeding sensation, quite simply because it works and it doesn’t aim to “Mommy Shame” or make you feel bad. Post puree pictures – great everyone’s happy. Finger foods? Perfect too. So while breastfeeding versus formula may always be an all or nothing debate, first foods don’t have to be.

Baby Self-Feeding shows how purees and healthy finger foods can work together and, when introduced at the right times and in the right amounts, can have a lasting impact on the way your child will approach food, obesity levels later in life, and even allergy avoidance. Celebrity parenting author Elizabeth Pantley, author of the “No-Cry” book series says that baby self-feeding is a “stress-free plan for beginning solids that can set your child up for a happy, healthy, and adventurous life-long relationship with food.” Now that’s something we can all agree on.
