Bye-bye boo boo
Our boys at Just the Facts, Baby started walking a few months ago and skinned knees are a common occurrence–which is why we've already worked our way through a tin or two of Dimpleskins' Boo Boo Goo. This soothing balm is also great for bug bites and eczema and is handmade from 100-percent natural ingredients, including pure beeswax, organic jojoba oil and tea tree oil. Dimpleskins' diaper salve (aka "Bum Bum Balm") is another of our favorites and recently won the PTPA award. For more info, check out dimpleskinsnaturals.com. And, if you decide to order a tin for your baby or toddler, you'll be glad to know it's made out of recycled steel and will be shipped to you from Dimpleskins' B.C. headquarters in a recycled box complete with unbleached tissue.
Teach your toddler
We all know our kids are smart (possibly prodigies, but we don't like to brag), so what better way to ensure they get a head start in school than by helping them learn more at home? If you've been diligent about reading to your infant but are wondering what else you can do, Teach My Toddler might be the answer. Packaged in a handy tote, this all-in-one learning kit contains 17 coordinated, interactive teaching tools (from puzzles to board books) designed to help children 18 months and older have fun while mastering their alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors. JTFB cofounder Sydney Loney tried it with her son, who caught on quickly (smart kid) and whose favorite part is matching puzzle pieces to the kit's colorful posters. Keep your baby cozy in an eco-friendly bamboo blanket

At Just the Facts, Baby we love things that are soft, stylish and good for the environment–and Baby Boomba's eco blankies fit the bill. Made with sustainable bamboo fibers, these individually hand-crafted baby blankets are breathable and hypoallergenic–making them safe for sensitive or allergy-prone skin. Each blanket is one-of-a-kind and reversible, with a standard knit face and a terry-type one–perfect for the occasional wipe up. Other great products available at Baby Boomba include: organic onesies, slings, mei tais and nursing covers. "We are constantly sourcing green fibers and textiles to offer our customers an end product that they can feel good about using," says founder Marina Duque, a mompreneur based in Ajax, Ontario. New organic cotton nursing tops

As a new mom not yet adept at nursing, Christine Poirer felt shy about trying to breastfeed in the waiting room before her daughter's first doctors' appointment. She made a special shirt that allowed her to nurse comfortably in a crowded room and, when all her friends wanted one too, Poirer realized she was onto something. She perfected the design and launched Momzelle, a line of nursing tops with four different styles (a round-neck T-shirt, tank top, V-neck and turtleneck). The Canadian-made, organic cotton shirts are designed to flatter the postpartum figure with a long, sleek look through the body and adjusted width at the hips. Best of all, they don't look like nursing tops–a one-size-fits-all breast opening is covered by a panel of fabric across the shirt for easy, discreet access. "Our mission is to help women feel good about breastfeeding, no matter where they are," says Poirer. For more info, check out momzelle.com
Safe and soothing mom and baby bath products

Looking for safe, natural products for you and your little one? The Mama Moisturizer Stick is only the latest in a long line of healthy lotions and potions from Breathe Natural Bath and Body Products. The Canadian company was launched last year by Jill Breugem, who began making her own natural products for friends and family as a hobby. "I'm a mom first and wanted to make sure my family was using products that were gentle, safe and better for the environment," she says. Made with natural ingredients and essential oils (no synthetic fragrances, colors, phthalates or parabens here), you'll find everything from Baby Oil and Baby Wash to our favorite, the Baby Bottom Salve, which is great for diaper rash and dry skin. There are lots of great products for moms too, including the new Mama Moisturizer Stick with cocoa butter and Vitamin E, guaranteed to soothe your skin even if you're not expecting. www.breathenatural.com
