Top parenting stories this week
From baby toys and cool threads to store openings and things to do with your little one. We cover the new, the old favourites and the best-kept secrets for everything baby.
Travel Toy Organizer

We just wish we’d thought of this ourselves–Hold It Baby is the ultimate toy organizer for babies on the go. Simply strap it to your stroller, car seat, high chair or shopping cart and you’ll never have to worry about leaving anything behind. The non-toxic, adjustable strap lets you tether up to six items in close proximity to your child–no more diving for dropped toys or searching for somewhere to wash pacifiers or sippy cups that bit the dust. We took it for a test drive and have to agree, it is sanity on a string. holditbaby.com
Potty Perfect

Our main trepidation with toilet training was not the prospective accidents, but the ugly mound of plastic that would take permanent residence in our homes. Luckily, boon designs a sleek, modern potty that even doubles as a step stool. The potty bench is easy for toddlers to use. Just flip up the lid and take a seat. Afterwards, you can pull out the drawer and discard waste. There are even two side drawers for tissue and training pants storage (although our boys prefer to fill them with cars and trucks). The only drawback? The deflector is a little small for taller boys.
Baby in the Hood

Our boys end up out of a hooded towel about five seconds after they exit the bath. So we love Bébé Au Lait's new toddler hooded towels. Hidden magnet closures on either side of the hood keep the toddler towel in place. Plus, the ultra soft cotton terry cloth fabric is lined in a choice of 10 fashion-forward fabrics so it looks as good as it feels. Baby versions are also available for 0 to 24 months in generous sizing–perfect for swaddling.
Big Kid Bedding

Wish you could find quality kids' bedding that's fun and affordable? Your wish is their command (the "they" being Natalie and Ali, two stay-at-home moms who launched Wish Bedding when they couldn't find cool sheets for their kids that would hold up in the wash). The two women now shop the world for the best in kids' bedding. Their criteria? Innovative patterns, high-thread counts, quality yarns and affordable price points. Our favorites include: the Construction collection for boys and Butterfly collection for girls. Wish Bedding even offers bedding shopping tips, fabric information and laundering strategies under "Bedding 101" on their site. wishbedding.com
Eco-Friendly Baby Bath Tub
Ah, baby bath time. Early on, it can be a bit of an ordeal, which is why momprenneur Brandy Cameron decided to launch Spa Baby Tubs. We love the comfy, European design that keeps baby happy in a natural, upright position–not to mention warm under the water as opposed to lying on her back and exposed to the air. Best of all, Spa Baby Tubs are non-toxic, recyclable, energy efficient and BPA and PVC free. Ideal for newborns to 10 months. spababytubs.com
