Talk so They'll Listen

All parents need help learning how to communicate with their toddler more effectively. But in our busy lives, sometimes we don’t have enough time to curl up with another parenting book.
Talking to Toddlers offers help through a two and a half-hour audio course. Creator Chris Thompson, father of two and certified Master Hypnotist and Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner teaches parent how to get to the emotional root of problems rather than trying to apply adult-sized logic to kid-sized problems.
His techniques are simple to apply and we love that they only take a few hours to master.
Keeping Baby Dry

Baby wearing is a blast – until it rains. Then things get complicated, unless you’ve got a Baby Parka handy. Whether your infant is snug in a sling or strapped into a baby carrier, the Baby Parka is designed so you can just pop it over top. And the Canadian moms behind the design have thought of everything: reflective tape to make you visible, two simple anchor straps to secure the Parka to you or the carrier, a foot pouch to keep feet warm and dry (or to catch falling shoes), and a two-way zippered hood so it doesn’t matter whether your baby is facing in or out. As an added bonus, the carrier also fits snugly over some strollers. Babyparka.ca

Fashion Made Easy

Once we had kids, shopping for clothes went from being a beloved pastime to “Who has time?” Shopping online is often the only way to update last season’s wardrobe, but until now Canadians have had few style-savvy options. Enter Dealuxe. Created by Sweetspot founder Joanna Track, Dealuxe aims to bring contemporary fashion to Canadians with brands such as Addison, Genetic Denim and Blank. Their favorite pick for busy moms? The Samra ballet flats (seen here). “They’re the perfect shoe for dropping the kids at school, grabbing your groceries and still looking oh-so chic,” says director of marketing Erin Green.

The Best Balance Bikes

Help your toddler take to two wheels with a new balance bike for spring. With no pedals to get in the way, balance bikes teach kids ages one through five how to ride a two-wheeler–without training wheels! For instance, the KinderBike (pictured here) is lightweight, sturdy and comes with a lifetime warranty. It’s easy to adjust, easy to control, easy to stop and steer, and easy to assemble (just insert the handle bars and tighten). At Balance Bikes Canada you’ll also find eco-friendly, wooden balance bikes (Runners and Kiddimoto), the popular Strider (small and light enough for an 18-month-old) and the 2-in-1 Hobby bike (converts to a regular bike when your child is ready).

Reinventing the Wheels

We've always loved their car seats, so we're really excited that Britax has a new stroller to help tote babies (and toddlers!) around town. The B-Ready stroller is the most versatile set of baby wheels on the market. It can be converted from a single to a double child system and offers 14 possible seating configurations including seats, bassinets and infant car seats. There are forward and rear facing options, multi-position reclines and a large canopy to shield your baby from the sun. Full suspension makes for a smooth ride and the adjustable top handles make sure mom and dad are comfortable while they push.
