How to Interview a Babysitter or Nanny

In This Article

5. Trial Day

A trial day allows the nanny or babysitter to work with your child in a relaxed situation with you there to support and observe. Only hire a caregiver who agrees to a trial day before hiring. If they agree, pay them for the time they are there. Work side-by-side with them and provide support and guidance when needed. When you feel comfortable with the caregiver, leave her and the child alone, but be readily available and within ear-shot.
