Toxins in Breast Milk
The bad news is there are already toxins in your breast milk. The good news is that eating only vegetables, fruits and a few other natural foods for a few days isn’t going to increase the toxicity of your breast milk.
Toxins are an unfortunate side effect of modern society. “We have polluted everything,” says Dr. Jack Newman, author of The Ultimate Breastfeeding Book of Answers. “Everything is polluted to some extent including formula, cow's milk, everything we eat and, yes, breast milk.”
Breast milk has been shown to carry toxins ranging from DDT, PCB’s, mercury, lead and arsenic. These toxins are present in similar amounts regardless of whether or not a mother is doing an approved for breast-feeding cleanse.
