Top Five Tips when Caring for Two or More
-
If you plan to breastfeed both babies, feeding them at the same time makes life easier for all concerned. Investing in a special twin nursing pillow allows you to alter positions, such as switching from a cradle to a football hold.
-
Establish a bedtime routine (warm bath, gentle back rubs, quiet lullabies) and try to get your twins or multiples on the same sleep schedule.
-
Twins can safely sleep together in the same crib until they're three months old.
-
When you have to move your babies to separate cribs, make sure they can still see each other.
- If one baby wakes up and cries to be fed, wake the other(s) too so you won't have to get up as often in the night.
