Post-Pregnancy Hair Loss

In This Article

How long does post-pregnancy hair loss last?

For most women, increased hair loss will last for three to six weeks. In extreme cases, however, it can take a year for hair loss patterns to return to normal. Until then, talk to a hairdresser about the best way to mask hair loss and take comfort in the fact that your hair will grow back. Unless a woman is also undergoing female pattern hair loss unrelated to pregnancy, even the most extreme cases will return to normal in a year.
