Weaning Your Baby
Making Weaning More Comfortable for Mom
Remove one feeding every two or three days so your milk supply will diminish naturally. If you become engorged, you can express a little milk to make yourself feel more comfortable–just don't overdo it or your body will think the baby still needs milk and continue to produce more. If you are really uncomfortable, holding a cold compress over your breasts with gentle pressure can also help. (Soaking a diaper in cold water makes a great compress.)
